Houghton, NY– The Houghton College Women's soccer team celebrated Senior Night on Saturday afternoon. The Highlanders honored five seniors in Anna Hills, Alexa Hoag, Reegan Mitchell, Alex Steele, and Sierra Dibble.
The first half went scoreless as neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of play. Although neither team was able to score, the Yellowjackets dominated the shots battle in the first half, while the Highlanders were only able to attempt a single shot.
The second half favored Rochester as they continued to attempt more and more shots. However, this half they were able to find the back of the net on several of their attempts. Five of the Yellowjackets shots for the back of the net in the second half. Houghton also was able to attempt more shots than they did in the first half, bu they were not fruitful as they were help scoreless by Rochester. Ultimately the Highlanders fell 5-0 to the University of Rochester.
With the loss, the Highlanders drop to 5-9-1 as they prepare for Cazenovia on the road on Tuesday Night.
