LANCASTER, Pa. -- Freshman
Mary Doell tallied seven goals to lead Houghton women's lacrosse to a 21-14 season-opening win over Lancaster Bible College on Friday.
Doell opened the scoring with her first career goal just 53 seconds into the contest. The first-year player would score three more times in the first half to stake the Highlanders to a 12-5 halftime edge.

Britany Dones each scored twice in the first half.
After Doell scored her fifth to up the lead to eight goals, the Chargers bounced back with five of the next six goals to pull the score to a 14-10. The Highlanders would outscore LBC 7-4 over the final 20 minutes to secure the win.
