Zedomi Sets 400m Program Record, Track & Field Thrives at Boston University

BOSTON, MA – Several members of the track & field teams headed to Boston University to compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday and Saturday. It is one of the largest indoor track & field meets in the country with over 5,000 entries, in a two day span. The highlight of the meet was junior Nathaniel Zedomi breaking the Houghton School Record in the 400m at 50.53. The record was previously set by Stephen Scott in 2008 of 51.28 seconds. In fact, freshman Micah Williams also ran under the standard a few heats later, in 51.18 seconds.

Coach Hager commented, "We really look forward to this meet as not only a checkpoint, but a chance to feel some big meet energy on a banked track, with some of the best athletes in the country. We started going last year, and decided to take a few more athletes this year. Sometimes it's hard to keep focused during a long trip, with a smaller group, but I thought they did well, and nearly everyone hit a season best mark. It prepped us well for E8's in two weeks."
