HOUGHTON, NY—Jadyn Abrams scored 25 points the lead the Nazareth Golden Flyers past the Houghton Highlanders on Saturday afternoon, 75-58.
The Golden Flyers built an early double-digit lead in the first quarter before Houghton outscored them, 8-3, over the remaining minutes, trimming the lead to five on a pair of
Emie Taylor free throws.
After Nazareth again rebuilt the lead to nine points, Houghton made another run, pulling within three points on a
Caitlyn Cybart three-pointer midway through the second, before the Golden Flyers finished the half with a flurry, extended their lead to 10 points.
Following an evenly played third quarter in which Houghton made several runs, the Highlanders looked primed to break through in the final 10 minutes, cutting the deficit to only four points on a
Brooke Lewandowski three-point play with less than eight minutes remaining.
But the Golden Flyers would dominate the remaining minutes, outscoring the Highlanders, 16-3, the rest of the way to seal the win.
