South Abington Township, PA – The Houghton College Women's Soccer team put on an offensive showcase against the Clarks Summit University Defenders and won the game 7-1.
11 minutes into the game,
Moriah Steffen put the Highlanders on the board with her first goal of the game.
10 minutes later, freshman,
Sierra Neddo found the back of the net off of a
Mary Doell assist.
The Highlanders surrendered a goal near the end of the first half cutting their lead to one heading into halftime.
After a halftime talk from Head Coach
Nikki Elsaesser, Houghton came out in the second half firing on all cylinders.
Steffen and Neddo each fired in their second goals of the game to stretch the lead to three.
Kealy DeForest joined the scoring brigade 15 minutes into the second half.
Mikayla Gaffney and Mikayla Simmons each added goals later in the second half as Houghton cruised to their 7-1 victory.
