HOUGHTON, NY – Three Highlanders posted a hat trick apiece as the Houghton offense exploded in a win over the visiting Wells Express, 13-1.
Houghton put the first ball in the back of the cage less than two minutes into the game when
Hannah Daniels knocked in her first goal of the year on an assist by
Katherine Manley. The Highlanders would go on to score six more goals in the first quarter and 10 goals before the half.
Wells would notch their first goal of the year in the third, but Houghton responded with three more goals in the final period.

The Highlanders open Empire 8 conference play this Saturday when they travel to Oneonta, New York to take on the Hartwick Hawks at 11:00 a.m. Last year the Hawks scored two second-half goals to clip the Highlanders, 2-1, knocking Houghton out of post-season contention.
