ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Highlanders were unable to keep up with the Elmira Soaring Eagles losing 6-10. The first quarter started off with a goal by the Soaring Eagles but the Highlanders answered back. The play was back and forth with each team grabbing one more goal before the quarter ended. The Soaring Eagles came out flying in quarter three outscoring the Highlanders 3-1. This momentum gave Elmira the led 5-3 going into halftime.
The third quarter started out with another Soaring Eagles goal before the Highlanders could net two to close the gap to just one goal. Elmira was able to find two more goals of their own to increase their led going into the fourth. The final quarter was once again controlled by the Soaring Eagles when they scored two more goals and held Houghton to just one. The Soaring Eagles 10-6 win over the Highlanders takes them to 1-7 in the conference while Houghton drops to 0-7.
