UTICA, N.Y. – The Highlanders struggled in their last game of the season losing 9-21 against Utica. The Pioneers controlled the first quarter scoring 4 goals while keeping the Highlanders scoreless. Houghton was able to start the second quarter with a man up goal to get on the board. The Pioneers were able to fire back and rally 10 goals to close out the first half up 14-1.
 
The Pioneers started the third quarter scoring but the Highlanders were able to answer back after capitalizing on a man up opportunity. Both teams added two goals each to even out the 3^rd quarter scoring. The Highlanders found some momentum in the fourth quarter outscoring the Pioneers 5-4 but the gap was too big to close. Utica came out on top at the final buzzer winning 21-9 over Houghton.
