Houghton, NY. – Highlanders defeat Elmira 14-7 in Empire 8 Contest

Houghton started the game brightly, scoring the game's first two goals in the opening minutes. Elmira would respond with the next 5 goals to take a 5- 2 lead with just under nine minutes left in the first half. Amazingly, the Highlanders fought back with 4 goals to take a 6-5 lead into the half.
 
The second half was dominated by Houghton as they outscored their opponent 8-2 to take a 14-7 win. The highlanders were led by Cori Beck with 5 goals. Marissa Hews Chipped in with 4 goals and Meagan Barry scored her 50^th career goal for the Highlanders
