Men's Lacrosse Can't Solve Saxons in Home Loss

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Houghton men's lacrosse remained winless in conference play, falling to Alfred University, 20-7, at Burke Field on Wednesday.

The Saxons scored the first five goals of the contest before Nathan Anderson scored off an assist from Lyle Warrior with just over a minute left in the first quarter. However, the visitors would score twice in the next minute, the second tally coming as time expired in the quarter, to go up 8-1 after a quarter of play.

Thomas Woodward scored five minutes into the second quarter to make it 8-2. After two more Saxon goals, Daniel Williamson scored off an assist from Jonathan Mayer. Alfred would close the half with two more goals to take a 12-3 lead into the locker room. The third quarter was a defensive battle as neither team could find the back of the net.
