HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Houghton's Women's Lacrosse team earned their first win of the season. The Highlanders started off the game strong with a quick goal by Reegan Mitchell. Hews and Kneitinger each went on a two goal run along with a goal by Dones to add to their lead over Hilbert, 6-0. The Hawks were able to find the net with just over 3 minutes left in the first half. Houghton was able to answer back with 2 goals to close out the half 8-1.
 
Hilbert started the second half with strong momentum when they scored two goals in less than 5 minutes. The Highlanders were able to find their rhythm again and went on a 4 goal streak before the Hawks answered back. Hilbert fought hard to the end scoring the final goal of the game but Houghton was able to hold out with an 18-6 win.
