Houghton Men's Tennis Wins Shutout against SUNY Delhi

Houghton Men’s Tennis got off to an early lead against the SUNY Delhi Broncos in doubles on Saturday evening

Houghton Men's Tennis got off to an early lead against the SUNY Delhi Broncos in doubles on Saturday evening. Zach Shilvock and Dylan Scherer clinched a quick 8-0 victory at second doubles over Mike Zerniak and Bailey Lane. Next to come off the court was Louis-Guillaume Garcia and Jake Fisler, who dropped only 1 game in their defeat of SUNY Delhi's number 1 pair. Ethan Yung and Ethan Baker's win at three doubles rounded off the Highlander's 3-0 lead moving into singles.

Junior Jake Fisler made quick work of his singles match against Marcos Andrino to start off Houghton's singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Senior Zachary Shilvock and sophomore Dylan Scherer also won their singles matches without dropping a game. Matthew Cicero lost only one game during his number five singles win against Jake Robinson. Delhi's Bailey Lane was forced to forfeit following an ankle injury at 0-2 in the second against Houghton's Ethan Yung. Freshman Micah Christensen won his first regulation singles match for the Houghton Highlanders this season with a commanding 6-0, 6-3 victory to finish out match.

Coach McGraner remarked "I'm proud of the guys today. They came in, had good energy, and played aggressive. They did work."

The Highlanders will face off against PSU Behrend at home on Tuesday, March 19th at 4:00PM
