The prospects for the Houghton Ladies Tennis team looked hopeful as the team moved into singles with the score at 1-2. However, they were unable to keep up momentum and fell to the Allegheny Gators 1-8 in the final score on February 2
nd.
The solitary win for the lady Highlanders came from second doubles team,
Catie Moore and
Alicia Cline. The pair won their doubles proset 8-5. The women's team came up short in a couple of close sets and super-tie-breakers throughout the following singles matches.
"Once again, I think the energy was good on the women's side. I think it's really hard when you only have 6 players, but the ladies did a good job of compensating for that by being loud and cheering each other on. I think, even in the matches we lost, we played really well and put in a good effort. Congrats to my second doubles team on a well-deserved, tough win!" says Coach McGraner.
The Lady Highlanders prepare for a quick turnaround as they get ready to face off against RIT on Tuesday
