Though the match was well fought the Houghton Highlanders couldn't hold out against Allegheny College in their spring season opener on February 2^nd. Despite many tight matches and three super-tie-breakers at 1, 3, and 5 singles, the Houghton Men were only able to pull out one victory thanks to Louis-Guillaume Garcia at No. 1 singles.
"Allegheny has a great program," says Head Coach Tonya McGraner "they're the kind of team we need to play to continue getting better. I'm proud of our team, we talked a lot this week about having a strong court presence, and I think we did that today. The guys were loud and pumped up, it was a well-played loss. And I've got to give a shout-out Louie for an excellent win today!"
The Houghton Highlanders will have a week to prep before they face off against RIT on Feb 16^th.
