DELHI, NY— The SUNY Delhi Broncos utilized a high-pressure defense and some help from a large number of Houghton turnovers to defeat the Highlanders on Saturday afternoon, 85-59.
After clinging to a slim lead for most of the first half, the Highlanders watched the Broncos reel off an 8-0 run over the final two minutes to take a six-point lead into the half.
Delhi continued to build steam in the second half, outshooting the Highlanders 48 percent to 30 percent. The Broncos also capitalized on 16 Houghton turnovers over the final 20 minutes, while committing only six themselves.
Isander Ramos-Net led the Highlanders with 20 points, the sixth time this season that he has scored in double-digits, and the second time he has scored at least 20 points.
