HOUGHTON, NY— The Houghton women's soccer team played to a 0-0 deadlock in double-overtime against Empire 8 conference opponent, St. John Fisher, at Burke Field on Tuesday night.
The Cardinals took three more shots then Highlanders in the first half, but Houghton was able to keep the scoreboard clean with two saves by goalkeeper
Sadie Dunnett.
Coming back onto the field, St. John Fisher fired off two shots early but neither found the back of the net. As the Cardinals continue to find opportunities, the Highlander's defense proved to weather the offensive attacks of St. John Fisher.
As the battle continued in double-overtime, the Highlanders had chances to steal the game but couldn't get one past the Cardinals' defense.

FROM THE COACH
"St. John Fisher has a quality side. We played well at times but need more consistency - still too many unforced errors. But I really like their effort. They gave a lot tonight." -- Head Coach
