HOUGHTON, NY – The Lady Highlanders took an early lead on a goal from 
Alyssa Strom.  Cazenovia answered right back with 2 goals to take the lead 2-1.  Just minutes later the Highlanders would take the lead 3-2 on back to back goals from 
Meagan Barry and 
Marissa Hews.  The Wildcats would storm back with 2 goals to re-take the lead 4-3, before the Highlanders scored 4 straight from Elizabeth Pisker, 
Cori Beck, and  two from 
Meagan Barry to take the lead 7-4.  Cazenovia found the net once more and Houghton hit two more to take a 9-5 lead into halftime.
The Wildcats came out hot scoring the first three goals of the second half cutting into the Highlanders lead making it a one goal game, 9-8.   
Alyssa Strom, and 
Cori Beck would score back to back goals to make the score 11-8.  Then 
Meagan Barry scored back to back goals on free position attempts to extend the lead to 13-8 for the Highlanders.  
Elizabeth Piszker and 
Marissa Hews found the net within 20 seconds of each other to extend the Houghton run to 6-0 giving HC a 15-8 advantage with 8:13 to play.  The Wildcats came storming back punching in three straight goals making the score 15-11 with 5:42 to play.  
Alyssa Strom gave life back to Houghton slinging one in to extend the lead to 16-11 with 4:09 left in the game.  Houghton controlled possession for a majority of the last 4 minutes to seal the win.
Sarah Olandt had 12 saves in the goal for the Highlanders.
Meagan Barry led the way with 5 goals, 
Alyssa Strom added 4, 
Marissa Hews added 3, and 
Cori Beck and 
Elizabeth Piszker each added 2 for Houghton.  Houghton improves to 2-3 with the victory.
