Sage Outpaces Highlanders with Second Half Shooting

ALBANY, NY—The Sage Colleges Gators opened the second half with a 12-0 run, catapulting them to a victory over the Houghton Highlanders, 92-66.

The Gators raced out to a quick start and eventually built an 11-point lead midway through the first half before the Highlanders battled back.  With 1:10 left to play before halftime, Dylan Lambert sank a jumper that evened the score, 37-37.

In the waning second before the break Sage hit a three-pointer and entered the locker room up by three.

After Sage raced out to a 16-point lead in the second, Houghton again began to mount a comeback.  Midway through the half Antonio Deadmon sank a deep three that pulled Houghton within seven, but that would be as close as the Highlanders would come as the Gators pulled away down the stretch.
