UTICA, N.Y. -- Houghton women's tennis grabbed a 9-0 conference win over Utica College on the road Saturday to close out their fall schedule.
The Highlanders did not lose a game in five of the nine matches, including first and third doubles.
Tori Noller (first singles),
Kaylee Jentsch (second singles) and
Catie Moore (fifth singles) also held their opponents scoreless.
Tessa Brown,
Erin Haley and
Amanda Carl also secured singles wins.
"The girls played great. They competed hard, played aggressive, and stayed mentally tough," said Head Coach
Tonya McGraner. "I'm very pleased to have that match as the women's season closer. And although I'm sad their fall competition season has ended, I couldn't have asked for a better way to go out."
The win moves Houghton to 4-7 overall on the year and 4-4 in the E8.
The Highlanders are back in action in the spring when they host Allegheny College on February 9.
