HOUGHTON, NY – Beth Wagner scored a pair of goals to lead the Houghton Highlanders past the Sage Gators, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Houghton opened the attack early, getting off several shots and penalty corners in the opening minutes, but it was not until the 14
th minute that Wagner took the ball out of a crowd and found the back of the cage to give the Highlanders the only lead they would need.
The score remained 1-0 throughout the remainder of the half and over 13 minutes into the second period before Wagner struck again, this time on an assist from Alexandra DeHart, to give the Highlanders some cushion.
