BUFFALO, NY – Amber Edwards recorded her 10^th double-double of the season (14 kills, 14 digs) to lead the Houghton Highlanders past the Buffalo State Bengals, 3-0, on Tuesday night.
 
In the opening set Houghton built an early lead and widened that margin to 23-16 before the Bengals won four of the next five points.  Edwards, however, closed out the set with a kill to give Houghton a 1-0 lead.
 
The two teams battled throughout the second set, as Houghton picked up multiple leads and the Bengals continued to close the gap.  Late in the set the Highlanders led, 23-18, but Buffalo State scored five straight points on three Houghton attack errors and two service aces to tie the game.
 
Houghton regained the lead on a Bengals attack error, and Edwards again put away the game-winning point with a service ace to take the pivotal second set.
 
With the momentum in their favor, the Highlander turned in their best performance of the night, winning the third set by an 11-point margin, 25-14.
