HOUGHTON, NY – In what amounted to perhaps their most dominant statistical performance of the season, the Houghton Highlanders lost to SUNY Brockport on Wednesday night, 1-0, on the Golden Eagles only shot of the game.
 
Although the Highlanders outshot the Golden Eagles, 30-1, and held a 30-2 advantage in penalty corners, just over four minutes into the second half Brockport drove the ball down the middle of the field and a pass deflected off a Houghton defender's stick into the air where Maria Morganthaler knocked home her first goal of the year.
 
While Houghton continued to apply pressure throughout the remaining 31 minutes, peppering the opposing cage with shot after shot, nothing would cross the goal line.
