HOUGHTON, NY – The Highlanders came out on fire tonight as they took Medaille 17-5 while out shooting them 54-21.
Houghton out scored Medaille 6-1 in the first quarter and took an 11-2 lead into halftime with the Chapman brothers leading the way.
Cole Chapman and
Paul Chapman had a combined 6 goals and 2 assists in the first half.
The Highlanders struck first in the 3rd quarter with 2 goals from
Cole Chapman and 1 goal from
Kevin Bigham in the first 6 minutes of the quarter. Medaille answered back with 3 goals to end the 3rd quarter giving Houghton a 14-5 advantage into the 4th. Houghton would score 3 more goals in the 4th quarter to win 17-5.
Nathan Moore was 12-16 in face-offs, while scooping up 12 ground balls and scoring three goals on the evening.
Jorge Medina stopped 7 shots for the Highlanders.
Houghton hits the road at Elmira College on March 29.
