Stevens Defense and Deep Bench Takes Down Highlanders

HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Stevens Ducks built a sizable lead early and never looked back, defeating the Houghton Highlanders, for their twelfth win in their last fifteen games (one loss came to Division I University of Pennsylvania).

Midway through the first quarter Brittany Lenart hit a jumper to pull the Highlanders within three, but the Ducks responded with a 13-2 run over the ensuing three minutes to finish the quarter up 26-12.  Stevens would continue to pull away throughout the game, winning each quarter.

Five Ducks players scored in double-digits, but the story of the game was the Stevens' defense, which held the Highlanders to only 23 percent shooting on the day.
