HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Stevens Tech defeated Houghton, 9-0, in women's tennis action Saturday.
While the Highlanders couldn't pull out any individual match wins, they got a strong performance from
Caroline Phillips in first singles. The freshman won her first set, 6-1, fell in the second, 3-6, and came up just short (8-10) in the third set.
Laura Jacuzzo played strong in her third singles match. After losing 0-6 in the first set, Jacuzzo took her opponent to a tie-break in the second set, before succumbing 6-7 (5-7).
Phillips and Jacuzzo also teamed up for a strong performance in first doubles, dropping a 5-8 decision.
