ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca Bombers scored four times in the game's first four minutes and went on to claim a 21-3 over Houghton in women's lacrosse Saturday.

Jennifer Zacchigna (East Aurora, NY, East Aurora ) scored to make it 4-1 and Torri Sperl (Saugerties, NY, Saugerties) added another tally with 13:30 left in the first half, but the Bombers held a 13-2 halftime lead.

Ithaca outscored Houghton, 8-1, in the second half, with Sperl netting her second of the contest for the Highlanders. Chandler Jones (Collegeville, PA, Spring-Ford) picked up the assist.

The Bombers outshot the Highlanders 38-5 and controlled the groundbals, 26-15. Draw controls went 21-4 in Ithaca's favor.

Kourtnie Franklin (Belfast, NY, Belfast) made 12 stops in net. Meghan Oswald (Penn Yan, NY, Marcus Whitman) led Houghton with four groundballs, three caused turnovers and two draw controls.

Houghton (3-8; 0-3 E8) hosts E8 opponent Alfred University on Wednesday, April 13.
