HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- Houghton women's tennis was in action for the first time this spring, losing to Roberts Wesleyan College, 9-0, Thursday afternoon.
Houghton fell to 6-8 overall on the season.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets, with Jacquelyn Lewis's second set loss by a score of 6-3 in fourth singles was the closest any Highlander would get. Bethany Chesebro and Laura Jacuzzo were able to produce 6-2 scores in their first and third singles matches, respectively.
The tighest match of the day came in second doubles as the team of Jacuzzo and Lewis lost 8-5.
Houghton returns to action on Saturday, March 19 when they host Wells College at 1 p.m. in the Kerr-Pegula Field House.
