MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- The Houghton College field hockey team earned its sixth win of the season after a 2-1 win over Morrisville State on the road Tuesday.
The teams combined for all three goals over a seven-minute span in the second half.

After a very competitive but scoreless first half of action, Emily Hunt opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal to give the Mustangs a 1-0 advantage in the 52nd minute.Three minutes later, off of a penalty corner pass from

Kelsie Ashley ripped a shot from the top of the circle to even the score at one apiece.Â

Just four minutes later -- after an initial shot and save --
Sierra Kennedy would put a shot past Morrisville keeper Meredith Koziol to give the Highlanders a 2-1 lead and seal the win.Â

Highlander keeper Elizabeth Pizsker allowed one goal while talying 10 saves.Â

For the Mustangs, Koziol would allow two goals with four saves.Â

The Highlanders are back in action in a non-conference match-up with SUNY Cortland on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m.Â
