Field Hockey Drops Game at St. John Fisher

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- The Houghton College field hockey team fell 5-1 at the hands of Empire 8 foe St John Fisher on Saturday.The Loss drops the Highlanders to 7-9 (2-5 E8) and improves the Cardinals to 14-2 (7-0 E8).
 
Going Up against one of the most formidable opponents in the conference, the Highloanders looked to take down the Cardinals and get back to their winning ways but Fisher would not falter.
 
Two early goals for the Cardinals would set the tone for the contest. They scored twice in the first half and three times in the second half. Nicole Jennings would have the lone goal for the Highlanders coming at 26:14.
 
Elizabeth Piszker collected 10 saves on the day for the Highlanders, while opposing keeper Ashley Maynard would tally two saves.
 
The Cardinals outshot the Highlanders 20-5 on the day.
 
Houghton is back in action on Saturday, October 29 for their final game of the season against Nazareth College at home at 4 p.m.
