HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Maurice Mills and Mitch Ford scored 23 and 22 points, respectively, to the lead the Nazareth College Golden Flyers past the Houghton Highlanders on Tuesday night, 86-72.
Nazareth stretched their winning streak to five games while the Highlanders dropped their fourth straight.
Both teams exchanged leads early and Nazareth held a slim 19-17 lead just over seven minutes into the game.
Over the next eight minutes, though, the Golden Flyers went on a 19-6 run to open up their biggest lead of the half at 38-23.
Houghton trimmed the lead to as few as eight before heading to the locker room down 50-40.
With three minutes remaining in the game
Brandon Camacho (Dundee, NY, Dundee High School) nailed a three pointer to bring the Highlanders with eight, but Houghton could not rally further and the Gold Flyers pulled away in the final minutes.

Antonio Deadmon (Dallas, TX, Texas Southern) scored 13 point, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out five assists, leading the Highlanders in each category.

Johnathan Stowe (Toronto, ON, Canada, Don Mills Collegiate Institute) each scored 12 points and brought down seven and eight rebounds, respectively.
The Golden Flyers: >Mills and Ford both turned in dominating performances. Mills scored 23 and posted nine rebounds and three blocks. Ford put up 22 points and 15 rebounds.
Stat Analysis: >The Golden Flyers dominated in the paint, outscoring the Highlanders 58-30 between the blocks and owning the boards, 54-43.
>Both teams struggled from the floor in the second half. Nazareth's shooting dipped from 51.2 percent (21-41) in the first half to 38.3 percent (13-34). Houghton dropped from 42.4 percent (14-33) to just 25.6 percent (10-39).
