ALFRED, N.Y. -- Houghton women's tennis moved to 3-1 in Empire 8 action, taking a 6-3 win over Alfred University on the road Tuesday.

The Highlanders got wins from Bethany Chesebro (Olean, NY, Olean), Laura Jacuzzo (Seneca Falls, NY, Mynderse), Tera Anderson (Frewsburg, NY, Frewsburg) and Toni Kling (Wellsvile, NY , Wellsville HS) in singles play.

Houghton also got wins in first and second doubles to improve their overall team record to 5-2 on the season.
