ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three Yellowjacket players scored a goal apiece for the University of Rochester as they defeated the Houghton Highlanders 3-0 in the season opener for both teams.
 
Rochester pressured early and often, posting 13 shots for the game, including seven in the first half.
 
The Yellowjackets found the net midway through the first half and never looked back, scoring again 10 minutes into the second half and completing the scoring with just over seven minutes remaining in the match.
 
The Highlanders struggled to find an offensive attack, managing just three shots, all of which came in the second half.
 
Houghton goalkeeper Shawna Sprout (Portville, NY, Portville Central) tallied five saves.
 
The Highlanders will look to regroup on Saturday when they head to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to take on Lancaster Bible College at 1:00 PM.
