Highlanders Can't Keep up With No. 13 Ithaca in Men's Lacrosse

HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The 13th ranked Ithaca Bombers took a 22-5 decison from the Highlanders in men's Empire 8 lacrosse action at Burke Field on Saturday. It was the first conference contest for each team.

Ithaca scored the game's first seven goals before Paul Chapman tallied an unassisted score to close the first quarter.

The Bombers outscored the Highlander 5-1 in the second, with Jared Limbeck netted the lone Houghton score off an assist from Sean Daigler.

The third quarter was evenly played on the scoreboard with each team scoring three times. Chapman, Jacob Samuelson and Justin Flint had the Houghton goals.

The visiting Bombers closed the game by outscoring Houghton 7-0 in the fourth quarter.

Ithaca outshot Houghton 46-19 and held a 32-11 advantage in ground balls.

Josh Haingray made two saves and allowed 10 goals in 22 minutes of action. Jordan Warren allowed 10 goals and made seven stops in 31 minutes. Zachary Jackson played seven minutes, allowing two goals.

Houghton (1-3) has a long break before taking on Alfred on Tuesday, March 17 on the road.
