MENDON, N.Y. -- A win in second doubles was all the Highlanders could get in an 8-1 Empire 8 women's tennis loss at Nazareth on Saturday.

Jacquelyn Lewis (Ashland, OH, Ashland, HS) and Laura Jacuzzo (Seneca Falls, NY, Mynderse) partnered for the 9-7 win.

Tera Anderson (Frewsburg, NY, Frewsburg) had a strong match in fifth singles. After losing 6-4 in the opening set, Anderson won the second, 6-2, then fell in the third set super tie-breaker, 10-8.

Houghton falls to 6-5 overall and 3-4 in the E8. Nazareth improves to 5-2 overall, 5-1 in the E8.
