Coach Dan Williams has been a mainstay on the Highlanders' bench for close to 15 years.

He began sharing his vast basketball knowledge as a volunteer assistant for the women's program in 2006-07 and stayed in that role through the 2019-20 season. Prior to the 2020-21 season, Coach Williams made the transition to the men's program.

Prior to joining the Houghton staff, Williams coached high school boys and girls basketball at Cuba-Rushford Central School and served as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Jamestown Community College-Olean for three years. During his stint at JCC-Olean, Williams garnered National Junior College, Region 3, Division 2 Coach of the Year honors.

Of his time at Houghton, Coach Williams stated: "I love coaching because of the relationships I can build with the players and the coaches. They are like my second family."

Coach Williams and his wife Anne have four children and six grandchildren. They live in Houghton on a 420 acre farm.
