A native of Hauppauge, N.Y., Coach Butler joined the Houghton lacrosse coaching staff in August 2018. After graduating a semester early in 2016 with a bachelors degree in Applied Health Sciences from Messiah College, Butler served as an assistant lacrosse coach and defensive coordinator at Alfred State College for the 2017 season.
During his time at Alfred State, Butler worked to solidify the defensive side of the ball and assisted in helping the team achieve its best overall record to date.
At Messiah, Butler was a three year member of the Falcons and part of the 2014-15 team that finished the season ranked 24th in the country. In addition to his time on the lacrosse field, Butler was also a member of Messiah’s Club Ice Hockey team where he played right wing.
Outside of coaching Butler enjoys traveling and playing lacrosse. Melding these two passions he has put on gear drives to help grow the game and has played internationally in five different countries. Butler is currently a member of Ireland Lacrosse.
Coach Butler will assist Coach Lundeen with recruiting, scouting, practice planning and player development at Houghton.
