Titus Ahrens joined the Highlanders as lead assistant in June 2023 after serving for two seasons at NAIA Trinity Christian College (Ill.).
Becoming a Highlander reunites Ahrens with Coach Bialek. The two worked together at Trinity in 2021-2022. Before Trinity, Ahrens spent two years coaching at Judson University (Ill.) and one as a student assistant at Elgin Community College (Ill.). During his time in the college ranks, Ahrens has been responsible for player development, scouting, recruiting, and basketball operations. While at Trinity, he worked with one all-conference player, three all-conference honorable mentions, and two first-team all-freshman players. With Judson, the Eagles earned the “Champions of Character” award given to the team that demonstrates high character throughout the season in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Throughout his time in the college game, Ahrens worked as a trainer and coach with the Chicago-based club team, Full Package Athletics. Full Package is regarded as one of the premier basketball development programs in the Midwest. In more than six years with the organization, Ahrens has coached 30+ teams and coached in over 1000 games. Ahrens credits Full Package with establishing his coaching foundation. “Steve Pratt, Dmitry Pirshin, and the entire Full Package family not only helped me with coaching but ultimately, working with them has changed my life.”
Ahrens played varsity basketball all four years of high school and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Purdue University. Additionally, Ahrens has worked as Director of Sports and Recreation for the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin.
