After spending the last five seasons as the assistant men's basketball coach at RIT, Tim “Sticks” McMullen joins his son, Corky, for his first year with the Highlanders.
One of the most decorated high school basketball coaches in Section V history, McMullen spent 31 years coaching and teaching at Letchworth Central School. During that time he posted 334 career wins as the boys' basketball coach, led the Indians to a Section V Class CCC title in 1999, and was named Section V Coach of the Year on four separate occasions.
McMullen also served as the head football coach at Letchworth for 12 years, guiding his team to three consecutive Section V titles in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and the NYSHSFCA title in 2011, for which he earned Coach of the Year honors. McMullen was inducted into the Section V Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
A native of LeRoy, N.Y., McMullen graduated with a bachelor's degree in physical education from Ithaca College in 1979 and went on to earn a master’s degree in education from SUNY Geneseo.
McMullen and his wife of 39 years, Marcia, have two children, a daughter Jamie, who's a physical education teacher at DeRuyter High School and a son, Corky, the head coach at Houghton College. They are the proud grandparents of ten grandchildren.
