Don Bentley joins the Highlanders coaching staff for his first season this fall, bringing with him a wealth of success as a player and as a coach.

A two-time Expressway Conference All-Star, Bentley scored 1103 points in his high school career at Franklinville Central School.

He then scored 1,085 points during his college career at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford, earning 2nd-Team AMCC honors in 1999-2000 and 1st-Team accolades in 2000-01.  During his senior season the Panthers won a school-record 16 consecutive victories; a mark that still stands.

Bentley played with five other players during his collegiate career that hit the 1000 point mark, two of whom scored over 2000 points and are the school's top two all-time scorers.
 
Following his playing career, Coach Bentley received the UPB Men's Triangle of Success award, an honor that annually recognizes student-athletes who exhibit  dedication to their sport, positive attitude, athletic ability, citizenship, character, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Bentley served as the JV Boys Basketball and Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball coach at Franklinville Central School from 2006-07 and 2014-16.  He lives with his wife and two children in Franklinville, NY.
