ASTON, PA – After falling behind early in the second quarter, the Houghton Highlanders scored three consecutive goals, holding on to defeat the Neuman University Knights, 4-2.
Aubrey Thurber tied the game in the 25
th minute on an assist from
Kylee Barshinger.
Less than five minutes later, Barshinger found
Courtney Walbridge for the first of her two goals on the day to give the Highlanders their first lead. Walbridge would strike again just over two minutes later to give Houghton a cushion.
Neumann, who would double the Houghton shot total on the day (20-to-10), once again found the back of the cage in the 43rd minute to pull within a goal, but the Highlanders'
Adria Hartzler picked up her second goal of the season eight minutes later to seal the Houghton win.
