BUFFALO, NY – Houghton Women's Volleyball opened Tuesday night's match with a first-set victory but was unable to maintain the momentum, falling to Buffalo State 3-1. The Highlanders took the opening set 25-22 before Buffalo State responded by winning the next three sets, 25-15, 25-19, and 25-19.
Houghton finished the match with 36 kills and a .102 team hitting percentage, struggling to find consistent offensive output against a strong Bengals defense. The Highlanders recorded 33 assists, 45 digs, four service aces, and four blocks in the four-set match.
After hitting .047 in the opening set, Houghton recorded its highest hitting percentage of the match in both the third and fourth sets, hitting .172 in each. Buffalo State, however, finished the match with a .243 hitting percentage, 52 kills, and 7 total blocks to secure both sides of the battle at the net.

The match will take place on the Golden Flyers' home court of Kidera Gymnasium.
