Daemen Takes 5-2 Win over Houghton on the Road

AMHERST, N.Y. — The Houghton University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 road decision, highlighted by a doubles victory and two singles wins across the lineup.

Houghton's lone doubles win came at third doubles, where Benjamin Unger and Jonas Likens secured a 7-5 victory. However, Daemen earned the overall doubles point by taking the other two match.

In singles competition, Houghton found success in the lower half of the lineup. Jonas Likens earned a strong win at No. 4 singles, while Caleb Hilsher added another point with a victory at No. 6 singles.

The Highlanders also saw competitive efforts throughout the rest of the lineup. Rune Camps led the way at No. 1 singles, followed by Eben Schilke at No. 2 and Preston Tobolski at No. 3. Benjamin Unger competed at No. 5 to round out the singles lineup.

Despite the final score, Houghton showed resilience with key performances in both doubles and singles play, continuing to develop depth throughout the lineup.

The Highlanders will look to carry that momentum forward as they continue their spring season. Houghton hosts Oswego on Friday, April 10 at 4 p.m.
