ALBANY, NY— Evan Grimes picked up his second win of the season, striking out 10 over six innings of work, while allowing only four hits, as the Russell Sage Gators defeated the Houghton Highlanders, 13-1, on Sunday night.
The Gators touched up Houghton starter
Aiden Talcott for three runs in the third to make it a 4-1 game, but the wheels came off in the fourth for the Highlanders, as they made multiple defensive miscues, giving up eight runs to give Sage a 12-1 advantage.
Houghton had no answer for Grimes, and never recovered, as the Gators rolled to their first conference win.
