Men's Tennis Falls to St. John Fisher on the Road

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Houghton University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision on the road to Empire 8 opponent St. John Fisher University on Saturday afternoon.

The Cardinals took control early, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. Houghton's top pairing of Rune Camps and Jonas Likens competed at No. 1 doubles, while Jason Murphy and Eben Schilke played at No. 2 and Benjamin Unger and Luke Maliszewski rounded out the lineup at No. 3.

In singles play, the Highlanders continued to battle but were unable to break through, as Fisher claimed all six matches to complete the sweep.

Rune Camps led the lineup at No. 1 singles, followed by Jonas Likens at No. 2 and Eben Schilke at No. 3. Jason Murphy competed in the No. 4 position, while Benjamin Unger and Luke Maliszewski played at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

Despite the final scoreline, the Highlanders faced a strong conference opponent and gained valuable experience in Empire 8 play.

Houghton returns to action at home on Wednesday, April 1, hosting Alfred at 4 p.m.
