HOUGHTON, NY – A swarming defense and a well-balanced offensive attack led the Houghton Highlanders to their 18^th victory of the year, a 94-48 victory over the visiting Hartwick Hawks.
 
The Highlanders hit 55 percent of their shots in the first quarter, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, as they jumped out to a commanding, 28-12, lead at the end of the first quarter.
 
The Houghton pressure continued throughout, as they limited the Hawks to only 29 percent shooting and forced 22 turnovers.

>> Teghan Trocki scored a career-best 17 points in only 13 minutes of play, hitting 6-of-9 from the field, including 5-of-7 from long range. 
 
>> Samantha Roadruck added 14 points, and Tricia Carmer scored seven points and pulled down a team-best 12 rebounds.
 
>> Crysta LaCrosse collected 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.  Already the Houghton career-leader in assists (418).  She now has 1,146 career points and 559 career rebounds. 
 
LaCrosse, who also ranks eighth all-time in steals, is only five points and 15 rebounds away from becoming the only player to rank in Houghton's top-10 in points, assists, rebounds and steals.
