HOUGHTON, NY – The Houghton Highlanders turned in a dominant overall performance on Wednesday night, scoring goals in each of the final three quarters, as they rebounded from their first loss of the season to defeat the Keuka Wolves, 3-1.
Houghton's Lilyana Good broke the scoreless tie with only 11 second remaining in the first half. Good inserted a corner to Kylee Barshinger, who placed a perfect pass back to Good for the goal.
Just over eight minutes into the second half, Adria Hartzler deposited her fifth goal of the season to put the Highlanders up, 2-0.
Keuka, however, would not be deterred. On their only shot of the game, the Wolves' Cassidy Sheftic made it a one-score game in the 51st minute.
Just over a minute later, though, Houghton's Ava Kramp would give the Highlanders some breathing room, knocking home her second goal of the year.
