HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- For the second-straight semester, Houghton athletics has produced its highest ever total of athletes named to the Empire 8 President's List which recognizes academic performance.

A record 107 Highlanders earned the mark for the spring semester, surpassing the previous total of 103 from fall 2024.

These student-athletes maintained a 3.75 GPA or higher to earn a spot on the E8 Presidents' List. The total represents 41 percent of Houghton's student-athletes who participated on intercollegiate teams during the semester.

Houghton's overall GPA for student-athletes during the semester was 3.44.

In addition, 14 of Houghton's 17 teams were named Empire 8 Conference All-Academic Teams for registering a team grade point average of 3.2 or higher for the spring semester.

Houghton women's cross country had the department's highest team GPA of 3.78, while men's cross country was the top men's team with 3.63.
