GENESEO, N.Y. -- Houghton softball is still looking for its first win in conference play after getting swept by Geneseo in a doubleheader Friday afternoon.
The Highlanders lost 9-1 and 8-0 in the two-game set.

Olivia Carr and
Kareena Ulfig produced Houghton's only hits in the first contest, with
Adelynn Killian driving in Ulfig for Houghton's lone run on a ground out in the fourth inning. Geneseo scored three times in the first two innings, but did most of its damage in the five-run fifth inning.
Carr pitched 5.1 innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits while striking out three.
In the nightcap, the Highlanders managed just one hit, a single by
Danielle Nelson, as they lost 8-0 in five innings.
Ulfig went the distance on the mound, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and three walks.
Houghton's next scheduled contest is set for Friday, April 11 when they host Sage for a doubleheader. However, two postponed dates could be re-scheduled earlier in the week, so check back with the team's online schedule.
