ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Houghton men's tennis faced a challenging University of Rochester squad on Friday, losing 7-0 to the Yellowjackets in a non-conference road match.
"Despite what the score might indicate, today was a great growing opportunity for us. I'm really proud of our resolve and how we rose to a challenge," said Head Coach
Jordan Crouch. "I think we served really well all day. No. 2 and 3 doubles played as well as I have ever seen. I'm excited to get into conference play starting next week. Let's go Houghton!"
Preston Tobolski and
Samuel Garay played a strong No. 2 doubles match, losing 6-3, while the pairing of
Jonas Likens and
Jason Murphy lost 6-3 in third doubles.
Graham Cook pushed his opponent in second singles before losing 6-1, 6-3.
Houghton returns to E8 play as they travel to take on Alfred on Wednesday, April 2 for a 4 p.m. match.
