BROCKPORT, NY – Alexis Sison racked up 15 kills in 31 attacks as SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles kept a talons' grip on second place in the Empire 8 conference standings on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Houghton Highlanders, 3-0.
Brockport took advantage of multiple short runs throughout the first set, as the Golden Eagles won, 25-18.
The teams played neck-and-neck throughout the second set, until, with the game tied, 21-21,
Emma Cole put away a kill to put the Highlanders up, 22-21.
But a Houghton attack error tied the game, and Brockport quickly pounded out three straight kills to win the set, 25-22.
With that, the Golden Eagles claimed the momentum, rolling through the third and final set in resounding fashion, 25-8.
